Privacy Policy

This policy explains how InsuCargo ("we", "us"), a brand operated by Aurope GmbH, a limited liability company registered in Germany (HRB 134440, Amtsgericht Frankfurt am Main), handles personal data on www.insucargo.com and the InsuCargo platform. As an EU-registered company we process personal data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG), and the German Telecommunications-Telemedia Data Protection Act (TDDDG).

1. Data we collect

• Contact and access requests: name, company, email, business type, shipment volume and your message.
• Shipment documents: commercial invoices, bills of lading and the details extracted from them (goods, value, HS code, transport mode, origin, destination, parties).
• Account and usage data: login details, actions in the platform, device and log data.

2. Why we use it

• To reply to you and set up your access (steps before a contract / legitimate interest).
• To extract shipment data and obtain quotes and certificates from our licensed partner (performance of a contract).
• To run sanctions screening and meet legal obligations (legal obligation).
• To secure and improve the service (legitimate interest).

We do not sell personal data and do not use it for third-party advertising.

3. Who we share it with

• Our licensed insurance partner and the licensed insurers it works with, to quote, issue and service policies and handle claims. They act under their own privacy terms for insurance purposes.
• Service providers acting on our instructions: website hosting and forms (Netlify), email (Zoho), and payment processing by the licensed party.
• Authorities where the law requires it.

4. International transfers

Some providers process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, we rely on safeguards recognised under the GDPR, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

5. How long we keep it

Access requests: up to 24 months. Shipment and policy records: as long as needed to service the policy and claims, and to meet legal retention periods.

Cookies and consent (TDDDG §25)

We use one technically necessary cookie: the language preference. Our analytics tool (Google Analytics 4) is deployed with prior explicit consent via the consent banner; it is not activated before your consent and can be declined at any time by clearing browser data. We use no marketing or third-party tracking cookies. Legal basis: §25 TDDDG (consent) and GDPR Art. 6(1)(f) for secure operation.

6. Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your data, or object to processing, by writing to info@insucargo.com. You may also complain to your local supervisory authority; as the controller's establishment is in Germany, the competent lead authority is the Bavarian data protection authority (Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht).

7. Cookies

This website uses no advertising or tracking cookies. The hosting provider may use strictly necessary technical data to deliver and protect the site.
